This evening, the Midlands’ own Jakwob released a free mixtape aptly titled ‘The Prize’, with a host of musical gifts featuring collaborations from the likes of Ghostpoet, 14th and Kano.
This little present comes as a taster for what we can expect on his forthcoming debut album due out this summer. The first single from the album, ‘Electrify’, was aired in March and showcased a more diverse sound from the dubstep-influenced formula he was first recognised for. ‘The Prize’ follows in a similar vein to ‘Electrify’ and is, in Jakwob’s own words, “a collection of various tracks that I’ve been working on for a little while and features all sorts of amazing people that I’ve been lucky enough to work with”.
