Last weekend, Bokah headed down to the picturesque countryside in Hertfordshire to hit one of the UK’s smaller festivals, Farr Fest. This year’s bill saw a collective of some of the biggest names in the UK electronic music scene; Huxley, Eats Everything, Alix Perez, Bondax, and George Fitzgerald were among a vast, talented line-up. We were fortunate enough to get our hands on a press pass which allowed us full backstage access, giving us a fantastic chance to see the two day event from an angle most festival goers wouldn’t.
The intimate feel of the festival really turned Farr Fest into a unique, special environment; with only 4 stages, and just over 1500 attendees, you really felt part of something exclusive and unmissable. One of the biggest highlights of the weekend was Johnny Cade and Huxley smashing it back-to-back in ‘The Shack’, the smallest of the four tents, producing the most incredible atmosphere. A huge set of rhythmic, progressive house pumped through the small, overflowing tent, causing massive movements in every flailing body that was packed underneath the booming canvas roof.
Farr Fest is definitely one to watch for 2013.
